The petitioner seeks condonation of 132 days' delay in depositing costs imposed pursuant to order of this Court dated 13.08.2025. 2.

While allowing the petition under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, for quashing of FIR No. 513/2016, under Section 354/323/506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, the Court directed the petitioner to deposit costs of Rs.10,000/- with the Delhi Police Welfare Society within a period of 12 weeks. 3.

Despite grant of a substantial period for compliance, the petitioner deposited the amount only on 16.03.2026, and seeks condonation of delay. It is clear that the petitioner has taken an inordinate amount of time, of more than seven months, to deposit the costs, for which there is no substantial explanation. While allowing the application in the interest of justice, I am therefore inclined to impose a further order of costs. The application is allowed, subject to further costs of Rs. 4,000/- to be deposited by the petitioner to the Delhi High Court Bar Association Costs Account [A/C No. 15530110179338; IFSC No. UCBA0001553; UCO Bank, Delhi High Court Branch] within one week from today. Proof of deposit of costs be filed within one week from today. 5.
