This is a petition under Section 29A (5) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

Material on record indicates that disputes arose between the parties and this Court vide Order dated 12.02.2024 passed in ARB.P. 1361/2023 appointed the Sole Arbitrator to adjudicate the disputes between the parties. 3.
It is stated that the pleadings were completed on 29.06.2024 and the mandate of the learned Arbitrator has been extended for a period of six months by mutual consent of the parties till 28.12.2025. 4.
It is stated that since the mandate of the learned Arbitrator for making the award will come to an end on 28.12.2025, the Petitioner has approached this Court for extension of time for making the award. Learned Counsel for the Respondent states that the Respondent does not have any objection to the extension of mandate. 6.
In view of the fact that the matter is at the stage of final arguments, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the learned Arbitrator till 30.05.2026 so as to enable the Arbitral Tribunal to conclude the arbitration proceedings and pronounce the arbitral award. 7.
The petition is disposed of along with the pending applications, if any.
