The Petitioner has been making requests for rectification of its name in the records of the SDM, Kalkaji, in respect of Khasra Nos. 400, 401, 1131/402, 1187/1130/402, 440, 444, 445, 446, 447, 448, 449, 450, 451, 453 and 454. Despite communications, including letters dated 15th December, 2023 and 8th January, 2024, the said request has not been decided, constraining the Petitioner to approach this Court. It is, however, noted that the area in question presently stands urbanised, and the issue as to the authority competent to effect mutation in such cases is under consideration in O. REF. 1/2024, titled Court on its Own Motion v. NEMO., pending before a larger Bench.

In view of the aforesaid, and considering that the issue is presently sub judice, this Court finds no reason to keep the present petition pending. Accordingly, the petition is disposed of with a direction that, subject to the outcome of the reference, the Petitioner's application dated 15th December, 2023 shall be processed by the competent/notified authority.
