The Petitioner is a life convict in FIR No. 253/2011, registered at P.S. K.N. Katju Marg for the offence under Sections 302/24 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. Through this writ petition, the Petitioner seeks a direction to the Sentence Review Board to consider his name for pre-mature release in the upcoming Sentence Review Board Meeting.

Mr. Rahul Tyagi, ASC for the State, appears on advance notice and submits that the petition may be disposed of with appropriate directions. 3.
Submissions heard and record perused. As per the latest Nominal Roll on record, the Petitioner has already been in custody for 14 years, 4 months and 11 days as on 4th November, 2025 and has also earned a remission of 3 years, 10 months and 8 days.

directed that, in the event the Petitioner is found eligible, his case shall be referred to the Sentence Tribunal Court for consideration. 5.
The Competent Authority / Sentence Review Board is directed to consider the Petitioner's case for pre-mature release in the forthcoming meeting of the Sentence Review Board, in accordance with law and applicable rules.
