This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, read with Section 528 of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus for the production of Mr. Ramachandra Rajagopalan, who is stated to be the legally wedded husband of the petitioner no.1, namely Mrs. Khadija, a Moroccon citizen, and the father of the petitioner no.2, namely Mr. Tarun Rajagopalan. 2.
A Status Report dated 13.01.2026 has been filed by the respondents, which inter alia states that unfortunately Mr. Ramachandra Rajagopalan passed away on 28.05.2019. that the nephew of Mr. Ramachandra Rajagopalan, namely Mr. Kannan has also informed that the deceased was staying in an old age care home at Vasant Kunj from where a cremation slip dated 01.06.2019 has also been obtained.

Keeping in view the above unfortunate development, no further orders can be passed in the present petition. As far as the other issues are concerned, we leave it open to the petitioners to avail of their legal remedies in accordance with law.
