The present petition has been filed under Sections 29A(4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of the mandate of Arbitral Tribunal for a period of one year, in the arbitration proceedings pending before the learned Sole Arbitrator. 2.
Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that five more witnesses of the respondent are yet to be examined. Thus, it is submitted that the matter is at the stage of evidence and further evidence has to be conducted, and thereafter, arguments have to be heard. It is further submitted that the entire process may take a further period of one year. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator is going to expire today, i.e., 05th January, 2026. 4.
Issue notice. Notice is accepted by learned counsel appearing for the respondent, who submits that he has no objection to the present petition. 5.
Accordingly, with the consent of the parties and considering that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of evidence, the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended for a period of one year, with effect from 05th January, 2026.

The present petition, along with the pending application, is accordingly disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
