and also an update on the status of the pending litigation. 3.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the issues involved in the present petition overlaps with those arising in the earlier round of litigation. Hence, an extension of time is sought. 4.
Reliance is placed upon the judgment of the Supreme Court in Rohan Builders (India) Private Limited v. Berger Paints India Limited 2024 INSC 686 and the relevant paragraph is as under:- "19.
In view of the above discussion, we hold that an application for extension of the time period for passing an arbitral award under Section 29A(4) read with Section 29A(5) is maintainable even after the expiry of the twelve-month or the extended six-month period, as the case may be. The court while adjudicating such extension applications will be guided by the principle of sufficient cause and our observations in paragraph 15 of the judgment."
5.
Learned counsel for the respondent raises no serious objection however, contends that the matter be decided within the extended period. 6.
Accordingly, the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator is extended by four months with effect from 30.11.2025, as prayed for. 7.
These petitions are disposed of in the aforesaid terms. AVNEESH JHINGAN, J JANUARY 5, 2026 Ch The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. The Order is downloaded from the DHC Server on 08/01/2026 at 12:53:38
