O R D E R

% 09.01.2026 Pursuant to last order dated 05.01.2026, Mr. Sanjeev Bhandari, learned ASC has handed-up a copy of Status Report dated 08.01.2026. The same is taken on record.

At the outset, learned ASC clarifies that on the last date of hearing, on instructions of the Investigating Officer ("I.O."), they had submitted that they had written a Letter dated 10.12.2025 to the learned Registrar General of the Supreme Court regarding the incident dated 10.12.2025. However, learned ASC submits that, as per the status report, the police have registered a Non-Cognizable Report dated 07.01.2026 u/s 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 at P.S.: Tilak Marg, New Delhi, and have forwarded a copy of the same to the jurisdictional Magistrate on 08.01.2026. The court is also informed that the Investigating Officer ("I.O") has now received the requisite CCTV footage, which has been viewed and further steps to identify the accused will be taken in accordance with law. A copy of the status report has also been supplied to the petitioner, alongwith links to the relevant footage(s).

The status report also narrates that the petitioner has not furnished to the I.O. the specific details of the stolen articles alongwith their value; and that further appropriate legal action shall be taken once such information is provided.

However, there appears to be some discordance of stand on this issue, since the petitioner submits that her bag alongwith all its contents, her lawyers' gown as well as her bands, were stolen from the premises of the Supreme Court; whereas the learned ASC submits, that on viewing the CCTV footage, it is seen that only a lawyers' gown was taken by an unknown person, whom the I.O. is attempting to identify and trace. Given the above circumstances however, this court sees no reason to keep the present petition pending.

The petition is accordingly disposed-of, with a direction to the I.O. to take requisite steps in the investigation, as may be warranted, in accordance with law, expeditiously.

The petitioner is directed to cooperate in the investigation. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed-of.
