The present petition under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 has been filed by the Petitioner for extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

Material on record indicates that an Arbitral Tribunal was constituted vide Order dated 09.02.2024 in CS No. 2 of 2023. The mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is being extended from time to time and last such extension was granted by the learned Arbitral Tribunal vide Order dated 28.05.2025 with mutual consent of the parties and extended the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal till 09.01.2026. Since the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is expiring on 09.01.2026, the present petition has been filed for extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal. 3.

It is stated that the witnesses of the Claimant has been examined and examination of witnesses of Respondents is to begin. Arbitral Tribunal is coming to end on 09.01.2026, the instant petition has been filed for extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal. 4.

In view of the facts of the present case, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal till 31.07.2026, so that the award can be pronounced.

The petition is disposed of, along with the pending applications, if any.
