This petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeks directions to the Respondent to pass a speaking order on the representation dated 1st October, 2025 submitted by the Petitioners, or in the alternative, to reinstate the Petitioners in service with all consequential benefits. 4.

The Petitioners, a group of 29 employees, state that they were engaged as Safai Karamcharis by the Respondent through the Department of Environmental Management Services, Municipal Corporation of Delhi. is asserted that after a long period of continuous employment, the Respondent suddenly disengaged their services on 5th March, 2024, vide Office Order No. DC/NGZ.MCD/2023-2023/D-250. The Petitioners submit that all requisite documents were duly furnished in 2024 itself. Copies of the letters submitted by the Petitioners to the Respondent, enclosing the requisite documents, are annexed as Annexure P-4 to the petition. 5.

The Petitioners urge that they have followed up with the concerned officials to ascertain their status, however, no information is forthcoming. They have also submitted a representation dated 1st October, 2025 to the Respondent, setting out their grievances.

On the other hand, Mr. Parminder Singh, counsel for the MCD, submits that the exercise of calling for documents is intended to ascertain the manner of engagement and termination of the Petitioners. He further states that this exercise is presently underway and shall be completed within a period of two months from today. Upon completion of the said exercise, an appropriate response shall be issued to the Petitioners'

pending representation.

Taking on record the aforesaid statement made on behalf of the Respondent/MCD, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the Respondent to decide the Petitioners' representation dated 1st October, 2025 by way of a speaking order within a period of two months from today, setting out full particulars and reasons dealing with the grievances raised therein.

Should the Petitioners be aggrieved by the outcome, they shall be at liberty to take appropriate remedy in accordance with law. 9.
