% 17.04.2018 CM No.14906/2018 (exemption) 1.
Allowed, subject to just exceptions.
2.
The application is disposed of.
W.P.(C) 3755/2018 & CM No.14905/2018 (stay) 1.
The writ petitioner challenges the notification dated 8th February, 2018 with regard to the National eligibility Cum pg. 1 of 2
Entrance Test (UG), 2018 issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education so far as it relates to the criterion for age prescribing the age limit for the unreserved and reserved categories and seeks directions by this court to the respondents to restrict the number of permissible attempts to a maximum of two. The petitioner also seeks restriction of the age limit for eligibility for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped etc) at 20 years and for the general categories at 19 years. 2.
Perusal of the writ petition would show that it is confined to the students who have attempted to the Tamilnadu State Board Examinations at the 10+2 level.
3.
In our view, the prayers in the writ petition relate to policy decisions which are undertaken by experts and are beyond the consideration in exercise of our extraordinary jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.
4.
We also have grave doubts that this court would have territorial jurisdiction so far as the subject matter thereof is concerned.
5.
For all these reasons, the writ petition and the application are dismissed.
