% 27.04.2018 Counsel for the petitioner has handed over `4 lacs to the respondent no.2 today in Court vide demand draft no. 019949 dated 26th April, 2018 drawn on Axis Bank, in terms of the settlement arrived at in Court on 25th April, 2018.

In view of the settlement arrived at between the petitioner and respondent no.2 and the fact that settled amount stands paid, offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 is permitted to be compounded. Petitioner is stated to be in jail. He be released from the jail forthwith, if not required in any other case. Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
