By way of present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 87/2024, registered at Police Station Jamia Nagar, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 323/354/354A/279/427/509/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter „IPC‟).

Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that on 04.03.2024, a quarrel had taken place between the parties, and based on the aforesaid event, the present FIR was registered against the petitioners under the relevant sections. However, it is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter in the month of January, 2025 vide Settlement Deed, entered between them.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2, who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that they have entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent no. 2 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties. Respondent no. 2 further states that she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 8.

The learned APP for the State does not dispute that initially the FIR in this case was registered under Sections 323/354/354A/279/427/509/506/34; however, subsequently, on the basis of statement of the complainant that the petitioners had stolen her jewellery, Sections 392/394 of IPC were added. It is also stated that the petitioners have no criminal antecedents. 9.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 10.

Jamia Nagar, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 323/354/354A/279/427/509/506/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed, subject to each petitioners depositing a sum of Rs. 10,000/- with the Civil and Sessions Courts Stenographers' Association, Delhi within a period of two weeks from date and filing the compliance report of the same with the Registry of this Court. 11.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. 12.
