The present petition has been filed by the petitioner praying inter alia for issuing directions to the respondents/ITBP to protect his seniority in the rank of SI (GD) and consider him for promotion to the post of Inspector, in terms of his representation dated 11.09.2017. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the said representation made by the petitioner is a subject matter of an Inter Office Note dated 29.06.2017 (Annexure P4), but no final decision has been taken thereon by the respondents.

In view of the fact that the petitioner's representation has remained pending at the end of the respondents for the past over six months, it is deemed appropriate to dispose of the present petition with directions issued W.P.(C) 4074/2018

to them to consider the same and pass a speaking order thereon in accordance with law within six weeks under written intimation to him. 4.

If the grievance of the petitioner still survives, he shall be entitled to seek legal recourse, as may be advised.
