CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE NAVIN CHAWLA
O R D E R
% 10.07.2018 This petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 has been filed by the petitioner seeking extension of time for making of the Arbitral Award by the Sole Arbitrator adjudicating the disputes that have arisen between the parties in relation to the Agreements of Sale/Purchase dated 22.06.2015 and 24.12.2015. As recorded in the order dated 15.05.2018 passed by this Court, the respondents have raised an objection with respect to the authority of the person who has verified this present petition on behalf of the petitioner. Pursuant thereto the petitioner has filed the I.A.No.8787/2018, seeking permission to place on record a copy of the Board Resolution dated 22.06.2018 passed by the petitioner company ratifying all acts done by Mr.Rajesh Gupta, erstwhile Director of the petitioner company, including the filing of the present petition, and has authorized Mr.Dinesh Gupta, Director of the company to represent the company in this petition.
In spite of pass over, none appears on behalf of the respondents. In view of the above, copy of the Board Resolution dated 22.06.2018 is taken on record and the application is allowed. As no reply has been filed to the petition by the respondents and having perused the contents of the petition, I do not see any reason for not extending the time for making of the Arbitral Award. The time for making of the Arbitral Award is extended by a further period of eight weeks with effect from today.
The petition is allowed in the above terms with no order as to cost. Dasti.
