By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR bearing no. 84/2017, registered at Police Station Lodhi Colony, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 323/354(A) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC').

Petitioner is present before this Court and has been identified by his counsel and Investigating Officer (IO), Police Station Lodhi Colony. 9.

Briefly stated, the facts of the present case as per the complaint are that on 04.07.2017, alleged incident of sexual harassment had taken place between petitioner and respondent no. 2. It is stated that on the complaint of respondent no. 2, an FIR bearing no. 84/2017 was registered at Police Station Lodhi Colony, Delhi, for offences punishable under Sections 323/354(A) of IPC against the petitioner. During pendency of the case, both the parties had amicably settled their disputes vide Settlement Deed dated 30.12.2022.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no.2 who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent no.2 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled/compromised between them Respondent no. 2 further stated that she has no objection if FIR may be quashed. 11.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 12.

Accordingly, FIR bearing no. 84/2017, registered at Police Station Lodhi Colony, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 323/354(A) of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed, subject to petitioner depositing a sum of Rs. 10,000/- with the Advocates' Welfare Fund, Saket Courts, New Delhi within a period of ten days from date.

Accordingly, the present petition along with pending application stands disposed of.
