Mr. Puneet Singhal, Advocate versus STATE ..... Respondent Through:

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SIDDHARTH MRIDUL

O R D E R

% 22.04.2016 The present is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Cr.P.C.) praying for a direction to the official respondent to release the petitioner on parole in order to enable him to perform the last rites of his mother and to combat inner stress and depression being depressed in jail as in continuous custody for about six years.

The grounds on which the parole has been sought by the petitioner are admittedly patently false and incorrect.

The writ petition is, therefore, devoid of merit and is accordingly dismissed. However, liberty is reserved to the petitioner to apply to the competent authority afresh for parole, if so advised. A copy of this order be sent to the Superintendent, Central Jail, Tihar for communication of the same to the petitioner.
