O R D E R

% 27.02.2017 Present contempt petition has been filed alleging wilful disobedience of the orders dated 01st February, 2001 as well as 23rd January, 2002 passed in W.P.(C) No.5090/2000, whereby the respondents stated that petitioner-Research Scientist under the Scheme of UGC will be continued on the same terms and conditions as that of the department and centres in the Universities and the arrears shall be paid within a period of six weeks. On 22nd December, 2016, this Court had passed the following order:- "Learned counsel for respondent no.3-UGC states that UGC has transferred the amount of Rs.68,60,100/- to the account of respondent no.1-institute on 14th December, 2016. Learned counsel for respondent no.1-insitute states that the amount of Rs.68,60,100/- has been transferred to the account of the petitioner.

However, learned senior counsel for the petitioner states that according to the petitioner's calculation, Rs.94,19,236/- is due and payable. She further states that the said sum has also been determined to be due and payable by respondent no.1-institute to the petitioner.

Learned counsel for UGC is directed to take instructions with regard to the balance outstanding amount. List on 27th February, 2017.

Admittedly, in pursuance of the transfer of Rs.68,60,100/- from respondent no.3 to respondent no.1, the petitioner has been paid. Today, learned counsel for UGC states that a further sum of Rs.23,49,819/- has been sanctioned for payment towards petitioner's salary to respondent no.1. A photocopy of the letter dated 27th February, 2017 handed over by learned counsel for UGC is taken on record.

Upon receipt of the said amount, respondent no.1 is directed to release the payment to the petitioner within a period of two weeks, in accordance with law.

If the petitioner has any grievance with regard to any outstanding amount, the petitioner is given liberty to file a representation with respondent no.1, who in turn, is directed to decide the same within a period of four weeks.

With the aforesaid directions, present contempt petition is disposed of as satisfied.
