Learned counsel for the respondents fairly states at the outset that after 27.1.2014, the date when an official communication was written by the respondent No. 4/DIG, CISF, Calcutta to the petitioner declining his request for compassionate appointment on the ground that more than 20 years had lapsed from the date of death of his father, Ct. Puran Chand, the maximum period of 15 years as prescribed has subsequently been deleted by way of an amendment, vide CISF Circular No. 08/2016 dated 29.9.2016. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that he was unaware of change in the rule position and now that he has been apprised of the same, he may be permitted to file a fresh representation with the respondents. 3.

The petitioner is granted liberty to file a fresh representation before the respondents for considering his appointment on compassionate grounds W.P.(C) 4717/2018

within four weeks from today. Immediately on receipt of the said representation, the respondents shall examine the same and pass a speaking order thereon, under written intimation to the petitioner within eight weeks. 4.
