This petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of directions to the respondent No. 1 and 2 to provide protection to them from respondent No. 3. 2.

Status report has been filed by the State which is to the following effect:- "It is submitted that an order of Hon'ble High Court of Delhi was received at police station Jafrabad directing undersigned to provide necessary protection to petitioners Smt. Ruby@Rani & Anr. after assessing the element of threat, if any. The petitioner had claimed that they are residing at C12/2, Shree Ram Marg, Mauzpur, Delhi. Undersigned alongwith Division staff has visited the house of the petitioners. Mobile numbers of Division Officers namely SI Manoj Kumar (Mb. No. 9953214593), ASI Satbir (Mb. No. 9350069911) and W.P.(CRL) 1152/2016

also mobile numbers of beat staff namely HC Naresh No. 169/NR at Ct. Krishan No. 1872/NE as well as of undersigned have been provided to the petitioner to ensure their safety, so that they can inform above said police officials as well as undersigned in case of any security threat, patrolling has also been increased around the house of the petitioner. Division and beat staff has also been briefed to make regular visits in the house of the petitioners. Compliance of the order of Hon'ble Court has been done."

Learned Advocate for the State submits that though as per status report at present there is no element of threat to petitioner, still State is ready to provide protection to the petitioner through Beat Staff in future, if there is any threat to her from the respondent No. 3.

Petitioners submit that they do not feel insecure in view of the steps taken by the State to provide protection to them and they do not want to further pursue the writ petition.

In view of the above, the writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. Order dasti.
