$~29 * IN THE HIGH COURT OF DELHI AT NEW DELHI + W.P.(C) 3804/2016 & C.M.No.16168/2016 SANT KUMAR SINGH ..... Petitioner Through Mr.Manoj Singh with Mr.Abhishek Sharma, Advocates.
versus CENTRAL PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER (CPIO) AND ANR ..... Respondents Through None
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE MANMOHAN
O R D E R
% 04.05.2016 Present writ petition has been filed challenging the order dated 29th February, 2016 passed by CIC whereby information sought by the petitioner vide RTI application dated 27th November, 2014 has been denied under Section 8(1)(j) read with Section 11(1) of the RTI At, 2005.
It has been averred in the petition that Sukhdev Singh took premature retirement from his employment with Food Corporation of India due to his mental illness and respondent no. 2, one of his daughters got employment with the Food Corporation of India on the compassionate ground by furnishing incorrect information and without taking any „NOC‟ from the other legal heirs of Sukhdev Singh who were dependent upon him.
A perusal of the file reveals that respondent no.2 had been appointed to the said post nearly 26 years ago. It is surprising that
this information had not been sought by the petitioner for all these years who happens to be a brother-in-law of respondent no.2. The ground of public interest has also not been urged before any of the appellate authorities. It seems that the present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner to settle some "personal scores" with respondent no.2.
Consequently, the writ petition and the application are dismissed.
