O R D E R
% 18.07.2018 The petitioner claims to be over 18 years of age and have married Mr.Ajay Kumar - son of Mr. Raj Kumar of her own free volition. Both were granted protection by this Court by order dated 24.04.2018. Ms. Vohra, the learned Additional Standing Counsel submits that from an inquiry into the matter, it has been found that the married couple did not reside at the address furnished.
The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that since they were apprehending threat to their life, limb and liberty, they have had an almost nomadic residence; and it is plausible that because of their moving about in fear they were not at the said address, when the police visited it. Nevertheless, their current address of residence has been given to the
Investigating Officer, who is present in the Court, through Ms. Vohra the learned counsel for the State. This address shall not be disclosed to anyone by the police.
In the circumstances, the Station House Officer (SHO) concerned shall look into the matter, assess the threat to the petitioner and her husband and accord them due protection for their safety and security. It is further directed that three telephone numbers of the police officials of which one shall be of a lady police officer of the jurisdiction in which the married duo reside shall also be furnished to them. These numbers shall be kept operational at all times so that any exigency can be intimated on either of the numbers by either petitioner.
The learned counsel for the State assures the Court that any information received from the petitioner, either through a telephone call or SMS or otherwise, would be immediately responded to. Additionally, the Beat Constable of the area shall ascertain from them on a daily basis for the next one month about their safety and security. Should the couple change their residence to the jurisdiction of any other Police Station, the SHO of the subsequent Police Station shall ensure due protection to them in terms of this order. The respondents No. 5 and 6 i.e. the parents of the petitioner are present in the Court. They do not have a counsel. Mr. Atul Bhuchar, Advocate present in the Court is appointed as their counsel. Mr. Bhuchar states upon instructions that the parents are naturally anxious about the safety and security of their daughter and would like to meet her at the earliest possible. It is, in this regard, that a complaint had been filed by them in Kurukshetra, Haryana.
The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a meeting can be arranged and the parties may be referred to the Delhi High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre. It is so directed. The parties shall appear before the said Centre on 27.07.2018 at 11.00 a.m. The SHO concerned shall ensure that the petitioner and her husband are escorted to from their residence to the said Mediation Centre.
Mr. Bhuchar upon instructions further submits that there is no threat to the life and limb of the married couple from the parents of the petitioner i.e. from respondents No. 5 and 6.
No further orders are required.
The petition stands disposed-off in the above terms. A copy of this order be given dasti to the learned counsel for the parties under the signature of the Court Master. NAJMI WAZIRI, J.
