% 22.04.2016 The present is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Cr.P.C.) praying as follows:- "a) Issue a writ or any other appropriate writ in the nature thereof directing the respondent No.1 & 2 to take all necessary steps for the safety, protection and security of the petitioners from the respondent No.3,4 and family members.
b) Any other or further order as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice."

Ms. Nandita Rao, learned Additional Standing Counsel (Criminal) appearing on advance notice on behalf of the police, on instructions from the SI Pratap Singh, Police Station- Uttam Nagar states that parents of Shilpi Singh, petitioner No.1 herein, have orally informed the police that they have no objection to the marriage between the petitioners. However, in view of the circumstance that the petitioners, who are both adults and have married each other of their own free will and desire, are
apprehending threats at the hands of the family of petitioner No.1, the SHO Police Station- Uttam Nagar is directed to afford adequate protection to them forthwith. The beat constable of the concerned area shall also be sensitized in this behalf. The telephone number of the SHO of the concerned police station as well as the beat constable shall be provided to the petitioners in order to enable the latter to contact the former in the event of any threat or apprehension. In view of the direction that is being issued in the present petition, I do not think it proper and necessary to issue notice to respondent Nos.3 and 4, family members of petitioner no.1 herein, in the present petition. With above directions the writ petition is allowed and disposed of accordingly.
