Mr. J. S. Lamba, learned counsel for the respondent No. 1, submits, on instructions, that the petitioner has passed away on 10.05.2024. A copy of the death certificate has been produced, and is taken on record. 2.
By order dated 06.11.2024, the writ petition was adjourned to enable the legal heirs of the petitioner to take steps if they desire to prosecute the writ petition. No application for substitution of the legal heirs has been filed.

Mr. Lamba also submits that another writ petition between the same parties [W.P.(C) 4750/2021] was filed by the petitioner with regard to fixation of his pay. The petition was dismissed by the order dated 15.12.2022. The petitioner carried the said judgment in appeal [LPA 523/2023], in which the following order was recorded on 08.10.2024: "1. Mr. Arun K. Sinha, learned Counsel for the appellant submits that the appellant has expired and his LRs do not desire to contest this appeal.

Having regard to the fact that the legal heirs of the petitioner have not sought to be substituted in this writ petition, the writ petition is disposed of.
