% 14.02.2020 CM APPL. 5963/2020 This application is filed for release of Rs.3,00,000/- from the compensation awarded by the order dated 15.12.2017. This court had on 15.12.2017 awarded compensation of Rs.10,00,000/- to the petitioner. On 23.05.2018, this Court directed that a sum of Rs.7,50,000/- shall be retained in 50 FDRs for a period of one month to fifty months, respectively, with cumulative interest. The FDRs were to be released accordingly at the end of each month. Liberty was granted to the petitioner to approach this Court in case some financial need arise.

By the present application it is pleaded that the granddaughter of the petitioner is getting married. Hence, it is prayed that Rs.3,00,000/- be released. It is stated that a sum of Rs.4,50,000/- approximately is still lying with the UCO Bank in the form of FDRs.

Petitioner is present in person. She is not very articulate. In the interest of justice, let a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- be released to the petitioner from the pending FDRs of the later expiry i.e. which are expiring subsequently in the later period. The amount be transferred to the account of the petitioner. UCO Bank may do the needful forthwith. Application is disposed of.
