% 17.10.2017 The appellant's grievance is that the learned Single Judge erred in holding that the writ petition is belated. He had claimed allotment of an alternative plot under an existing policy. The land owned by his father was originally acquired. After his death, compensation was paid and an application for alternative plot was moved. The respondent authorities had apparently closed the case in 1994. The appellant urges that the grounds for closing were unwarranted as subsequent documents revealed.
The Court notices that the petitioner became aware in 1994 and later in 2004 that the application was rejected. In these circumstances, he appeared to have approached the Court in 2013. The writ petition was directed to be treated as a representation. The rejection of that representation, in the opinion of this Court, in no way detracts from the fact that the Court was approached after an inordinate delay. In these circumstances, there is no substance or merit in the appeal. It is accordingly dismissed along with the pending applications.
