This is a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.75 /2013 under Sections 406/498-A/34 IPC registered at Police Station Crime (Women) Cell. It is stated that the matter has been settled amicably between the parties.

Respondent No.2/ complainant-Ms.Reeta @ Geeta is present before the Court with her counsel and is identified by the Investigating Officer. I have enquired from her whether the matter has been settled with the petitioners amicably without fear and pressure. She has stated that the matter has been settled without any fear or pressure and that the petitioner No.1 were to pay `1,37,500 lacs, out of which she has already received `,90,000/- and `47,500 has been received by her in court today by way of Demand Draft bearing No.896608 dated 15.09.2016 drawn on Punjab National Bank. The complainant has no objection to the quashing of FIR. CRL.M.C.1 576/2016

Since the matter has been settled between the parties and the divorce by mutual consent has already been granted vide decree dated 22.02.2016, no useful purpose will be served to continue with the proceedings under Sections 406/498-A/34IPC. In the interest of justice and to enable the parties to settle in life after divorce, FIR No.75/2013 under Sections 406/498-A/34 IPC registered at Police Station Crime (Women) Cell and all the proceedings arising therefrom are quashed.

The petitioners are, however, burdened with costs of `10,000/- to be deposited with Prime Minister Relief Fund within two weeks. The Registry shall ensure the compliance of the order.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
