% 25.05.2016 This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India filed by Neeraj, the petitioner herein, who claims that he has married Laxmi on 01.02.2016 against the wishes of her parents. It is also submitted that parents of Laxmi have illegally detained her which has led to the filing of the present petition.

Notice was issued in this matter. Laxmi has been produced in Court. The parents of Laxmi are also present in Court. We have interacted with Laxmi and her parents in the Chamber. We have asked Laxmi in open Court whether she wishes to reside with Neeraj or her parents. She submits that she has married Neeraj out of her own free will, she is a major and she would like to reside with her husband Neeraj.

The parents of Laxmi submit that in view of the statement so made,

Laxmi may join the company of her husband. We direct respondents no.3 and 4 not to interfere in the day-to- day life of Neeraj and Laxmi. At this stage, counsel appearing for the parents of Laxmi, upon instructions, submits that in case the family of Neeraj arranges a reception, the parents of Laxmi shall join the celebrations. Neeraj undertakes that he will allow Laxmi to complete her studies and will be responsible for her well-being. The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
