Present petition has been filed by the petitioners under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.688/2015 registered under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC at PS Prashant Vihar. It is stated that the matter has been settled amicably with the complainant / respondent No.2 vide settlement agreement dated 06.10.2015. Divorce by mutual consent has since been granted.

Complainant / respondent No.2 is present with her counsel and has been identified by the Investigating Officer. I have enquired from the complainant if she has settled the dispute with the petitioners amicably without any fear or pressure. She has informed that all the disputes between the parties have been resolved amicably with her free consent and she has no objection to the quashing of the FIR in CRL.M.C. 1681/2016
question. Pursuant to the settlement, remaining amount of `1 crore by way of demand drafts in the name of the complainant has been given to the complainant by the petitioners in the Court today. Photocopies of demand drafts numbering four in all for a total sum of `1 crore have been placed on record.

The petition is supported by affidavits of the parties. Copy of settlement agreement dated 06.10.2015 signed by the parties has been placed on record. Pursuant to settlement, divorce by mutual consent has been granted.

Since the disputes between the parties have been settled, no useful purpose will be served to continue with the proceedings. In the interest of justice and to enable the parties to put an end to the litigation and settle in life after divorce, FIR No.688/2015 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC at PS Prashant Vihar and all the proceedings arising therefrom are quashed.

The petitioners are directed to deposit ` 25,000/- as costs in the Prime Minister Relief Fund within two weeks. Registry shall ensure its compliance.

The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
