Learned APP accepts notice for respondent no. 1.

Respondent no.2 Ms. Shikha Gupta is present in Court and accepts notice. She has been identified by SI Satish Singh of police station Ambedkar Nagar.

It is submitted that petitioners and respondent no. 2 were known to each other. A quarrel took place between them on some trivial issues, which led to registration of FIR No. 519/2015 under Sections 354/506/34 IPC at Police Station Ambedkar Nagar on the complaint of respondent no. 2. Petitioners and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably, vide a

Settlement/Compromise Deed dated 24th March, 2018. Respondent no.2 submits that she has settled the matter with the petitioners of her own free will and without any undue force, pressure or coercion. Respondent no. 2 says that she has no objection in case aforesaid FIR and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

2 to this effect is also on record at pages 43-44. Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the petitioners and respondent no. 2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
