O R D E R

% 26.07.2016 This petition has been filed to seek the quashing of FIR No.956 dated 10.08.2015 u/s 498A/406/34 IPC and section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act registered at SP Badli against the petitioner on the complaint of respondent no.2.

The petition is premised on a settlement allegedly arrived at between the parties. Respondent no.2 is present in court and she states that the said settlement was got signed by the petitioner by misleading respondent no.2. She was not aware of her rights and, consequently, she signed the said settlement. She states that she has not received any benefit under the said

settlement. She does not wish to proceed any further with the said settlement.

In view of the aforesaid, in my view, the present petition is not maintainable, since the foundation of this petition was the settlement allegedly arrived at with respondent no.2 on 18.10.2015. The petition is, accordingly, dismissed.
