O R D E R

% 09.07.2018 Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the CBSE states that, although, in terms of their notification dated 25.06.2015, it is not permissible for them to permit change of name or surname of a candidate after the publication of the result; it is, however, possible to permit the change of name or surname before the publication of the result of the candidate.

In view of the foregoing, in the present case, although, the change of name or surname, insofar as, the petitioner is concerned, cannot be permitted in relation to the Class Xth certificate issued by the CBSE in terms of the said notification; the change of the name or surname, however, can be permitted for Class XIIth certificate, since

the Gazzette notification dated 25.06.2015 in relation to change of name of petitioner was published prior to the publication of the result of Class XIIth.

Directed accordingly.

The same is disposed of accordingly.

The petitioner shall surrender the original certificate and marksheet for Class XIIth for the year 2018 to the CBSE forthwith and CBSE shall make the necessary corrections and issue a fresh certificate and mark-sheet within a period of three weeks thereafter. SIDDHARTH MRIDUL, J JULY 09, 2018 as
