This public interest petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to construct Birth & Death Registration Centre in Nangloi, Phase-II of Ward No.31.

As is evident from the minutes of the review meetings of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation dated 11.02.2016 and 14.03.2016 held with the Municipal Councillor, Ward No.31, Nangloi West, the Birth & Death Registration Centre in Nangloi, Phase-II is yet to be opened. It is pleaded in the petition that a decision for construction of Birth & Death Registration Centre in Camp No.2, Nangloi, Ward No.31 was proposed long back and the work was also entrusted to an agency during the financial year 2010-11. It is alleged that no further steps have been taken by the respondents thereafter

and the construction as proposed has not taken place till date. 3.

On behalf of the respondents No.1 and 2 notice has been accepted by Ms.Monika Arora, the learned counsel for the North Delhi Municipal Corporation.

In the light of the averments in the writ petition and the material placed on record, we consider it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the respondents No.1 & 2 to treat this petition as a representation and take appropriate steps expeditiously for construction of Birth & Death Registration Centre in Ward No.31, Phase No.-II, Nangloi. 5.

In case there is any objection for taking up the construction as proposed earlier, the reasons should be intimated to the petitioner herein within four weeks from today.
