Learned APP accepts notice for respondent no. 1.

Respondent no. 2 is present in Court along with her counsel and has been identified by SI Jitender Kumar of police station Welcome. Respondent no. 2 accepts notice.

Respondent no. 2 submits that petitioner is her neighbour and with the intervention of family members and well-wishers, she has settled the matter with petitioner of her own free will, voluntarily and without any undue force, pressure or coercion vide Memorandum of Understanding dated 8th May, 2018. She further says that she is not willing to pursue criminal proceedings against petitioner any further and she has no objection in case FIR No.143/2014 under sections 323/354A/354D IPC registered at police station Welcome and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom, are quashed.

Affidavit of respondent no.2 has been annexed along with the

petition.

Keeping in view the settlement arrived at between the petitioner and respondent no. 2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending.

Accordingly, in the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti. A.K. PATHAK, J MAY 15, 2018 sm
