This petition is for quashing of FIR No.110 of 2016 lodged in Police Station Greater Kailash, New Delhi. The petitioner and the respondent No.2/complainant are neighbours and live on different floors of the same property. They have entered into a Deed of Settlement dated 8.5.2018 and an affidavit of respondent No.2 acknowledging the settlement has also been filed with the present petition.

The petitioner and the respondent No.2 are present in the Court as is the Investigating Officer (I.O.). The I.O. identifies the parties and has verified the contents of the petition.

The parties have also submitted that they have entered into the settlement on their own free will and volition without any pressure or coercion, in any manner.

In these circumstances, no useful purpose would be served by keeping the FIR pending. Consequently, the petition is allowed and the FIR No.110 of 2016 lodged in Police Station Greater Kailash, New Delhi, and proceedings arising therefrom, are hereby quashed. PRATEEK JALAN, J MARCH 12, 2019/rk
