O R D E R

% 23.03.2017 The petitioners have filed the present petition seeking quashing of FIR No.1424/2014 registered on the complaint of the complainant under Sections 498A/ 406/ 34 IPC against the petitioners at Police Station Mukherjee Nagar.

The complainant/ respondent No.2 is present in Court with her counsel. She is identified by the Investigating Officer. The parties have arrived at a settlement on 06.08.2015, which has been placed on record. The complainant states that she has received the amount as per settlement.

Respondent no.2 states that out of the amount of Rs.34 lakhs received from the petitioner, so as to safeguard the future interest of the minor child, she shall secure by way of deposit an amount of Rs.10 lakhs atleast on a long term basis so that the money is available for education and marriage of the minor child as and when required.

Respondent no.2 shall be bound to comply with the aforesaid undertaking given to the court.

The complainant states that she has not been subjected to any pressure or coercion and that she has entered the settlement out of her own free will. The complainant further states that she joins the prayer for quashing of the FIR in question.

Accordingly, no useful purpose would be served in proceeding further with the FIR in question and the proceedings emanating therefrom. The same are hereby quashed.
