O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 102/2018 3.
The petitioner has filed the present application under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereafter 'the Act'), inter alia, praying that the time for making the award be extended for a further period of six months from 01.06.2018.
4.
The learned counsel for the applicant states that the Arbitral Tribunal had entered upon the reference on 02.06.2017 and has already held more than twenty hearings. He has drawn the attention of this Court to the minutes of the 21st hearing held on 12.05.2018, which indicates that the petitioner had consented to the extension of time, however, the respondent had not
furnished its consent. The learned counsel for the respondent states that the competent authority has yet to take a decision in this matter. 5.
It is conceded that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of final arguments, therefore, this Court considers it apposite to extend the time for making the award for a further period of six months from 01.06.2018. It is so directed.
6.
The application is disposed of in the above terms. VIBHU BAKHRU, J MAY 22, 2018 pkv
