W.P.(CRL) 903/2017 Issue notice. Notice is accepted on behalf of the State. By this petition, the petitioner seeks extension of his parole. The petitioner was directed to be released on parole by the GNCTD for a period of one month. He is presently undergoing the said parole, which would expire on 26.03.2017.
The petitioner seeks extension on the ground that his daughter is undertaking class 10 board examinations, which would end on 08.04.2017. The petitioner is a life convict and has already spent 15 years in custody. The petitioner has placed on record a copy of the admission card of his daughter.
Considering the fact that the petitioner is required to surrender on 26.03.2017, the petition is allowed. The parole of the petitioner is extended till 08.04.2017. Accordingly, he shall surrender on 09.04.2017. This is subject to the condition that the averments made in the petition are true and correct. It has been made clear to the petitioner that in case upon verification it is found that the averments made in the petition are false, the same shall have adverse consequences for the petitioner in future while considering his application for parole/ furlough. The petitioner's parole is extended on the same terms and conditions on which it was initially granted. Dasti.
