O R D E R

% 10.09.2018 This petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereinafter referred to as the „Act‟) has been filed by the petitioner seeking extension of time for making of the Award by the Sole Arbitrator adjudicating the disputes that have arisen between the parties in relation to the Joint Venture Agreement dated 20th September, 2011.

The Sole Arbitrator was appointed by this Court vide order dated 11th May, 2017 passed in Arbitration Petition No.718/2017. The Arbitrator entered upon reference on 22nd May, 2017 and passed the first procedural order on 24th May, 2017 fixing the schedule for completion of pleadings, admission/denial of documents and framing of issues. Thereafter, it can be seen that the Arbitrator has been acting with expedition in giving short dates for conduct of the proceedings.

Counsel for the respondent submits that the respondent has no objection if the time for making of the Award is extended. In view of the above, the time for making of the Award by the Sole Arbitrator is extended by a further period of six months with effect from today.

The petition is allowed in the above terms with no order as to costs.
