Present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for extension of parole period granted for two weeks from the date of release by an order dated 09.05.2018. Status report not filed. 2.

I have heard the learned counsel for the parties and have examined the file. By an order dated 09.05.2018, the petitioner was granted parole for two weeks from the date of release on his furnishing personal bond in the sum of `30,000/- with one surety in the like amount to enable him to take care of his father at the time of

surgery on 12/13.05.2018. It is now informed by the petitioner that the petitioner could seek release only on 17.05.2018 and the date of surgery has now been postponed to 06.06.2018. 3.

The petitioner, however, did not furnish any plausible explanation as to why the delay in release occurred. If the petitioner had come to know about the date of surgery to have been postponed to 06.06.2018 after his release on 17.05.2018, it did not prevent him to surrender and to seek parole during the period when the surgery was to be performed. The petitioner even after coming to know about the postponement of surgery did not surrender and has availed the benefit of parole on that ground.

No sufficient ground for extension of parole as urged. The petition is dismissed.
