The petitioners seek quashing of FIR No.524/2012 under Sections 323/324/354/34 IPC, Police Station Sultan Puri. 2.
The parties are neighbours. The subject FIR was registered consequent to a quarrel that took place during Diwali with regard to bursting of crackers. The complainant alleged that, consequent to the quarrel, she as well as her daughter and her neighbour were assaulted by the petitioners. The complainant has since expired. 3.
The victims in the FIR, i.e., the daughter of the complainant as CRL.M.C. 3077/2018
well as her neighbour are present in Court.
They submit that they have settled the disputes with the petitioners and they do not wish to press their complaint any further.

In view of the fact that disputes between the parties have been settled, continuation of criminal proceedings will be an exercise in futility and justice in the case demands that the dispute between the parties is put to an end and peace is restored; securing the ends of justice being the ultimate guiding factor. It would also be expedient to quash the subject FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating there from.

In view of the above, the petition is allowed. FIR No.524/2012 under Sections 323/324/354/34 IPC, Police Station Sultanpuri and the consequent proceedings emanating there from are, accordingly quashed, subject to the payment of consolidated cost of Rs.15,000/- by the petitioners with the Delhi High Court Bar Association Employees Welfare Fund within a period of three weeks from today. Receipt of deposit of the costs imposed by this Order be furnished to the concerned Investigating Officer within a period of two weeks from today.
