This writ petition has been mentioned before me. This writ petition has not been numbered. The Registry is directed to number the writ petition.

The petitioner claims that he was late in entering the examination hall by two minutes, which was to be held today by the respondent i.e. AIIMS. The Examination Admit Card issued to the petitioner shows that the entry to the hall was to close at 02:45 PM. The petitioner was required to report today for the examination at 01:30 PM.

Mr. Sanjay Bansal, who, is the father of the petitioner and appears in person says that while proceeding to the examination hall, his car met with an accident and, hence, they reached the examination hall at 02:47 PM instead of 02:45 PM. The photograph of the car which was involved in the accident has also been appended in the writ petition. It is the assertion of Mr. Sanjay Bansal that though the petitioner was late by two minutes due to the aforesaid circumstance,

despite entreaties, he was denied entrance to examination hall. 4.

Ordinarily, I would not have entertained this writ petition as timings given in the admit card would have to be held as sacrosanct. However, I am informed that the same examination is to be held tomorrow, albeit, in two shifts. For this purpose, my attention has been drawn to Annexure P-2. To be noted, the admit card, which was issued to the petitioner, as indicated above, was issued for today qua the afternoon shift which, as per the admit card, was to commence at 03:00 PM and would have come to an end at 06:30 PM. 5.

In these rather unfortunate and peculiar circumstances, the Assistant Controller of Examination and/or the concerned authority is directed to consider the request of the petitioner favourably, to sit in the examination in one of the two shifts slated for tomorrow i.e. 27.05.2018. The Assistant Controller of Examination will act in terms of the directions issued by this Court.

Renotify the matter on 30.05.2018.
