By this petition, petitioner seeks parole for a period of three months for filing Special Leave Petition and also to maintain social ties. The petitioner also challenges the communication dated 8th May, 2018 rejecting the application of the petitioner seeking parole on the ground as noted above.

Nominal roll and status report have been handed over by the learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State.

A perusal of the nominal roll reveals that the sentence of the petitioner was suspended pending hearing of the appeal since 16th October, 2003 and the appeal filed by the petitioner before this Court was dismissed on 30th October, 2017. Petitioner has been in custody for less than eight months W.P.(CRL) 1827/2018
now and also he has surrendered after two months from the date of dismissal of his appeal which was sufficient time for him to file Special Leave Petition.

Considering the nominal roll of the petitioner, this Court finds no ground to grant parole to the petitioner and the Special Leave Petition required to be filed by the petitioner can be filed through the legal aid available in jail.

Petition is dismissed.

Copy of the order be communicated to the petitioner through Superintendent, Tihar Jail.
