The petitioner has filed the present application under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereafter 'the Act'), inter alia, praying that the time for making the award be extended for a further period of six months from today.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the arbitrator appointed earlier had expired and the petitioner has appointed Mr Justice B.D. Ahmed, former Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court to fill up the vacancy caused due to demise of the arbitrator appointed earlier.

The learned counsel appearing for the respondent has no objection for
extending the time for making the award.

For the reasons stated in the application, the application is allowed and the time for making the award is extended for a further period of six months from today.
