% 20.07.2016 Marital discard between petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 has led to registration of the FIR No.550/2013 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Aman Vihar. Petitioner nos.2 & 3 are parents of petitioner no.1.

During the investigation, petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Rohini Courts, Delhi on 18th January, 2014. Certified copy of Settlement Agreement has been shown to the Court during the hearing. Petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have already obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent from the Family Court, Rohini Courts, Delhi. Respondent no.2 is present in Court along with her counsel and has been identified by IO SI

Jitender Joshi PS Aman Vihar.

Respondent no.2 submits that in view of settlement, she does not wish to pursue the FIR any further and the same may be quashed. She also admits that the settlement amount has already been paid to her.

Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the parties and the fact that petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have already obtained a decree of divorce, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending, in the interest of justice, the FIR No.550/2013 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Aman Vihar and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti.
