% 17.07.2018 The petitioner who is engaged in trading activities regularly imports various personal accessories. Its complaint in these proceedings is, inter alia, that the bill of entry dated 11.12.2017 ought to be dealt with and an order of release of the goods be made; it also seeks the quashing of the detention of the goods in its premises 56A/12A, Rama Road, Najafgarh Road, New Delhi. It contends that the premises have been detained and the goods lying in it made inaccessible since 18.05.2018.

During the proceedings, counsel for the respondent informed the Court that in respect of the bill of entry dated 11.12.2017, a provisional release order was made on 08.06.2018. Consequently, the petitioner‟s grievance with respect to that aspect stands redressed; in case it is aggrieved, the petitioner is at liberty to seek appropriate appellate remedies in that regard. As far as the issue of unacknowledged detention of the premises is concerned, the Court was informed on behalf of the Customs authorities that the stock valuation is continuing and that further proceedings are contemplated. Given that the petitioner‟s goods have been detained for the past nearly two months, a direction is issued to the Customs authorities to complete the valuation and take appropriate action towards removal of detention order in order to enable the petitioner to continue to function and carry on business, as expeditiously as possible, within two weeks from today.

The petition is disposed of in the above terms. Order dasti.
