% 26.07.2016 The complainant is present in Court. She is identified by the IO. A copy of her Electoral Photo Identity Card has also been placed on record. The petitioners have filed the present petition seeking quashing of FIR No.383/2014 registered on the complaint of the complainant under Sections 498A/ 406/ 34 IPC against the petitioners.

The petitioner No.1 and the respondent No.2 are married according to Hindu rites on 20.02.2002. Since disputes arose between the parties, they

started living separately and respondent No.2 filed her complaint leading to registration of the aforesaid FIR at Police Station Kirti Nagar. The parties have arrived at a settlement in mediation on 22.05.2015, which has been placed on record. Under the settlement, the petitioners have agreed to make payment of Rs.20 Lakhs in full & final settlement of all claims of respondent No.2. Rs. 15 lakhs already stands paid to respondent No.2 under the settlement. The payment of remaining amount of Rs. 5 Lakhs has been tendered in Court, which has been accepted by her. The complainant states that she joins the prayer for quashing of the FIR in question.

Accordingly, no useful purpose would be served in proceeding further with the FIR in question and the proceedings arising therefrom. The same are hereby quashed.
