The appellants have challenged the award of the Claims Tribunal whereby compensation of Rs.7,40,096/- has been awarded to claimants/ appellants.

The limited ground urged by learned counsel for the appellants at the time of the hearing of the appeal is that the rate of interest be enhanced from 7.5% to 9%.

This Court is of the view that the compensation as well as rate of interest awarded by the Claims Tribunal is just, fair and reasonable, and does not warrant any interference. The appeal is, therefore, dismissed. J.R. MIDHA, J.
