O R D E R

% 12.07.2018 Ms. Vohra, the learned Standing Counsel for the State had sought a passover in the forenoon since the Investigating Officer had not briefed her about the matter. The SHO concerned is present in Court. She has handed over an affidavit, according to which some steps have been taken to ascertain the safety and security of the petitioners. Assessing the threat perception, the SHO had provided an armed escort for their safety en-route this Court. Efforts were made by the police to contact the petitioners on 10.06.2018 and 09.07.2018. The address of the petitioners shall not be disclosed by the police to anyone else.

Petitioner no.1 expresses grave threat to her life. She states that she is aware of dire consequences to her relatives in the similar circumstances and

she seeks adequate protection in this regard. Let the SHO of the area interact with the petitioners in the course of the day. Ms. Vohra further states that the petitioners have been provided with telephone numbers of the SHO, Division Officer and two other police officers, including the landline number of the police station, in the jurisdiction where the petitioners reside. Additionally, telephone number of a lady police officer too shall be furnished to them. These numbers shall be kept operational at all times to facilitate the petitioners to inform the police in case of any exigency. She assures the Court, upon instructions, that any intimation received either through telephone call or through SMS shall be promptly attended to. Additionally, the Beat Officer shall visit the residence of the petitioners daily for one month and ascertain from them about their safety and security. The SHO of the area will assess the threat perception, as may be, to the petitioners, and extend security to them as he may deem appropriate.

The learned counsel for respondent no.2, father of respondent no.1, states that the parents would like to meet their daughter in the Court premises itself. The learned counsel for the petitioners states that the parties have met each other in the course of the day but they will surely meet again before returning to their respective homes.

No further orders are required at this stage. The petition is disposed off in the above terms. A copy of this order be given dasti to the parties under the signature of the Court Master.
