W.P.(CRL) 1861/2018 This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking grant of interim police protection to the petitioners from respondent Nos.4 and 5 as there is a threat of dire consequence to their life from respondent No.4 and 5. Learned APP for the State appears on an advance notice. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioner No.1 got married to petitioner No.2 on 01.06.2018 as per Muslim Rites and Customs at Karkardooma Court, Delhi in the presence of marginal witnesses. However, the family members of the petitioner No.1 are not
happy with the said marriage and, therefore, the family members and relative of petitioner No.1 are extending threats upon the parents/family members of petitioner No.2. The Nikahnama dated 01.06.2018 of the petitioners is annexed herewith.
Heard.
Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the present case, the petitioners are granted police protection from respondent Nos. 4 and 5 at the address i.e. E-22, New Ashok Nagar, Delhi-110096. The SHO concerned to ensure that necessary protection be given to the petitioners keeping in view the existing circumstances. The mobile numbers of the SHO concerned and also of Beat Constable be provided to the petitioners so that in case of any emergent situation, the petitioners will contact them.
